Most first-time outbound efforts fail because they start with the tool stack instead of the math. Below is a 30-day plan that works whether you sell SEO, dev, design, or strategy — and assumes you've never sent a cold email before.
Week 1 — Sourcing
Pick one niche and one region. Pull 300 leads using website + social signals.
Lead Pulse's filters and Postly's public service-request feed cover this end-to-end. Skip enrichment vendors at this scale — the data they sell is already in the lead.
Week 2 — Messaging
Write three variants of a 90-word email. Each opens with a business-specific observation, frames one cost, and offers one soft ask. Send 10 of each and read every reply, including the unsubscribes.
Week 3 — Sequencing
Move to a 3-touch sequence:
- Cold email — day 0
- Follow-up — day 4
- Breakup — day 9
Don't add a fourth touch. You'll burn the domain before you learn what works.
Week 4 — Scaling
Whichever variant pulled the highest reply rate becomes the main pitch. Push volume to 50 sends per day per inbox, no more. Two warmed inboxes from day one.
The math
300 leads → ~6% reply rate → 18 replies → 5 booked meetings → 1–2 closes.
That's the realistic floor. If you're below it after 30 days, the problem is the pitch, not the volume.
Tools you actually need
- An inbox provider with good sending reputation
- An outbound tool with native warmup
- A CRM (a spreadsheet is fine for the first 100 leads, or use the Lead Pulse pipeline)
